Museum-goers from the Palm Springs area eagerly escaped the desert heat on a recent trip to the San Diego Museum of Natural History. Thirty-two individuals from St. Paul’s and St. Margaret’s boarded a luxury charter bus for a relaxing drive down to San Diego.
The group enjoyed the Museum’s “Dead Sea Scrolls” exhibit, which featured rarely-seen scrolls from which the original text of the Bible was derived. “It is an incredible feeling to be in the presence of these scrolls,” said Andy Duvall, Board member and the trip’s coordinator.
After a few hours of exhibit-hopping and sightseeing, the group boarded their bus to return to Palm Springs. “I’d like to come again for the second set of strolls!” exclaimed one participant.
Each ticket to the exhibit included a contribution to benefit ECS’ programs in the Coachella Valley. Over $1,500 was raised from the proceeds of this trip. |
