Share Your Time & Talent

Volunteering is a fulfilling experience for people of all ages. ECS offers a variety of one-time and on-going volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups who enjoy being of service to others. Our volunteers find that the relationships they develop with our clients and staff are meaningful and personally rewarding. In addition, volunteers have an opportunity to learn new skills, earn school credit, gain professional expertise and make new friends.

During our 2013-2014 fiscal year, close to 250 volunteers contributed approximately 5,000 hours to support the work of ECS. College students completed practicum hours in early childhood education; individuals connected with our clients on a weekly basis at a Safe Haven or Head Start center; professionals served on our Board of Directors; adults with disabilities cleaned our Head Start centers; church groups provided meals for Friend to Friend Life Celebrations; an art therapist worked with our Safe Haven residents; and more.

Requirements for On-Going ECS Volunteers:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Obtain parental consent if under age of 18
  • If over age of 18, complete a Live Scan background check
  • Pass a Tuberculosis (TB) screening
