All Saints' Church Donates Dishes to ECS Programs– November 15

When All Saints’ Church in Hillcrest cleaned out their kitchen during a recent renovation, they came across over five hundred plates, saucers, pitchers and other dinnerware they were no longer using. Cheryl Evans and Terry McArthur, All Saints’ parishioners, wanted to donate these items to a local charity rather than discarding them. “Terri Mathes suggested Episcopal Community Services. She mentioned that ECS has several residential locations that always need plates and things, so we brought them here.”

The dinnerware will be distributed to residents of ECS’ Julian’s Programs for Women & Children, Safe Haven clients and Head Start sites. “The pitchers are perfect for dispensing milk at lunchtime!” said Nerissa Torralba, a Head Start Manager.

In-kind donations such as the recent contribution from All Saints’ Church helps Episcopal Community Services reduce or eliminate the costs associated with purchasing furnishings, clothing and other non-programmatic items for our clients.
