In addition to the Thanksgiving food drive, the Cathedral’s annual “Alternative Christmas” fair featured a giving tree to benefit Episcopal Community Services. Women and children residing in ECS’ Julian’s Program for Women & Children, a domestic violence program, provided ornaments adorned with their Christmas wish list items. Requests ranged from school supplies for children to work appropriate clothes for moms. Passersby could select an ornament from the tree and either make a donation to purchase client wish list items, or shop for the items and deliver them to ECS before Christmas. |
