Driving Under the Influence Program

The primary mission of the East County ACCORD Driving Under the Influence Program (DUIP) is to help reduce the incidence and prevalence of driving under the influence and the negative impact of this behavior on our families, residents and community. This program serves primarily East San Diego County communities and rural areas as far east as El Centro. DUIP assists the court ordered participants in identifying and seeking solutions to their personal alcohol and drug problems. This goal is accomplished through education classes, group sessions, attendance a AA, NA or 12 step meetings, and face-to-face meetings with a trained, certified program counselor. DUIP encourages participants to discuss any alcohol and drug related problems or concerns with their counselor. DUIP is a State licensed program for all individuals arrested or convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The participants are referred by the court, probation office or Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). All costs are paid by fees charged to the participants. The program is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
