Apply For Head Start & Early Head Start


ECS Head Start is a federally funded program that offers high-quality early childhood and family education at no cost to eligible families. Your child may be eligible if your family’s circumstances fit into one or more of the following sections:

  • Receiving Public Assistance (TANF/CalWorks and Supplemental Security Income/SNAP/CalFresh (E.B.T)

  • Experiencing Inadequate Living Situations

  • Foster/Kinship Care

  • Family income is below the Federal Poverty Guidelines

Please have the following information available for your application:

  • Child’s proof of age (birth certificate, court documents, foster documents, etc.)

  • Proof of CalWORKs/TANF, SSI, CalFresh/SNAP (E.B.T) No additional proof of income is necessary.

    OR

  • Proof of income from all sources within the past 12 months:

    • 30 days of consecutive check stubs

    • Unemployment documents

    • 2022 taxes or W-2s (Self-declarations available for informal employment)

  • IEP or IFSP (If applicable)
